How does a relaxing massage work?
Unlike therapeutic, it uses slow stroking and gentle kneading without deep pressure. This effect reduces the activity of the sympathetic nervous system: the pulse slows down, muscle tone decreases, and the quality of sleep improves. The procedure is chosen for chronic stress, insomnia, anxiety and general fatigue. The session is usually held in a darkened room with calm music and aromatic oils.
What does massage give?
Massage improves blood circulation and lymphatic drainage in the affected area, relieves muscle spasm, reduces pain and increases mobility. For chronic back and neck pain, it is included in standard treatment regimens along with physical therapy.
The effect is cumulative: after one session, temporary relaxation occurs, and a lasting result appears by the end of a course of 8–10 procedures.
