When does lower back massage help?
The lower back bears the greatest load, so it is here that muscular-tonic syndrome most often occurs - dense, painful muscles that limit bending. Massage reduces spasm, improves tissue nutrition and increases the effectiveness of physical therapy. The course is indicated for chronic pain without exacerbation, after a long forced position and during recovery from injuries. In the acute period with lumbago and irradiation into the leg, massage is postponed until the pain subsides.
What does massage give?
Massage improves blood circulation and lymphatic drainage in the affected area, relieves muscle spasm, reduces pain and increases mobility. For chronic back and neck pain, it is included in standard treatment regimens along with physical therapy.
The effect is cumulative: after one session, temporary relaxation occurs, and a lasting result appears by the end of a course of 8–10 procedures.
