What does it show
The doctor identifies and measures myomatous nodes with their location (subserous, intramural, submucosal - tactics depend on this), signs of adenomyosis, polyps and endometrial hyperplasia by thickness and structure of the M-echo, ovarian cysts with an assessment of their nature (functional, endometrioid, dermoid), volumetric formations, fluid in the retrouterine space. Abdominal access provides an overview; for detailing the endometrium, small cysts and in obese patients, transvaginal ultrasound is preferable.
