The doctor evaluates the contours and size of the kidneys, the echogenicity of the parenchyma and cortico-medullary differentiation, the pyelocaliceal system, the presence of stones with an acoustic shadow, cysts (simple and complex according to Bosniak), space-occupying formations, kidney mobility (nephroptosis). Ultrasound is a primary diagnostic method: when stones and tumors are detected, clarification is performed by MSCT, and in case of blood flow disturbances, Doppler sonography is performed. To evaluate the bladder and prostate, the examination is complemented by an appropriate ultrasound with a filled bladder.
Indications
