AFS: find and neutralize
Two or more miscarriages, thrombosis before 50 years of age, thrombocytopenia - indications for the test: confirmed APS (positive result twice with an interval of 12 weeks) changes the entire management - anticoagulants during pregnancy allow you to carry the child to term, long-term prophylaxis prevents recurrent thrombosis. Available outside of acute thrombosis and before/after a course of anticoagulants as agreed.
When is it appointed?
- preparation for operations is a mandatory block;
- taking anticoagulants (warfarin - INR) - dose control;
- thrombosis and miscarriage - search for thrombophilia;
- bleeding: bruises, nose, gums;
- pregnancy - planned control of hemostasis.
Coagulation system
Hemostasis balances between bleeding and thrombosis: screening tests (prothrombin/INR, aPTT, fibrinogen) evaluate the coagulation cascade, D-dimer catches active thrombus formation, special tests (lupus anticoagulant, genetics of thrombophilia) look for the cause of repeated thrombosis and pregnancy losses. Before any operation, a coagulogram is mandatory - hidden disorders are detected before the incision, and not during it.
