Short protocols
Many modern regimens are completed in a few hours: premedication for 30-60 minutes, drug infusion for 1-3 hours, observation - and the day is completed without an overnight stay, which is convenient for working patients. A stable schedule (the same day of the week), a familiar team of nurses, communication with a doctor between cycles - treatment fits into life. Tests the day before are a prerequisite for admission to the cycle; in case of deviations, the doctor adjusts the timing, protecting the patient from complications.
Indications
- adjuvant chemotherapy after radical surgery (reducing the risk of relapse);
- neoadjuvant - tumor reduction before surgery;
- therapeutic - for common stages according to protocols;
- regimens with docetaxel and other drugs - as prescribed by the oncologist.
How the course works
Chemotherapy is carried out in cycles according to international protocols: the duration of the infusion depends on the regimen - from a 6-hour day stay to 24-72-hour infusions with accommodation in the ward (price list positions correspond to the duration and include the ward, food, premedication and staff work; the chemotherapy drugs themselves are as prescribed, docetaxel is available in “included” options). Modern accompanying therapy makes treatment tolerable: nausea is controlled in most patients. The port system (page in the surgery section) saves the veins from damage during long courses.
