First visit
The oncologist answers three questions: what is it (is a biopsy needed and what kind), how far has it gone (staging scope) and what to do (treatment order). At the appointment, the missing tests are prescribed with an appointment in the same clinic, and if the diagnosis is ready - the date of the consultation/surgery/chemotherapy. The patient receives an honest explanation of the situation and prognosis without intimidation or false promises; relatives may be present. Further management - for one team until recovery or stable remission.
Indications
- identified formation of any localization - a node, a “spot” on the image, an enlarged lymph node;
- confirmed oncological diagnosis - choice and organization of treatment;
- second opinion on diagnosis, stage, tactics;
- observation after completed treatment (remission);
- hereditary cancer alertness - screening plan.
How oncological care is structured
The correct sequence decides everything: verification (biopsy with histology and IHC) → staging (MSCT/MRI, scintigraphy if necessary) → consultation (surgeon, chemotherapist, radiation therapist) → treatment in the right order.
