24 hours under observation
An overnight stay is justified when it is important to see the patient after the infusion: delayed reactions, control of pressure and diuresis, correction of nausea in the first hours - everything is resolved on the spot without overnight trips. In the morning - examination, recommendations and discharge until the next cycle. The relatives are calm, the patient is safe; for non-residents, this also solves the issue of travel after a “hard” day.
Indications
- adjuvant chemotherapy after radical surgery (reducing the risk of relapse);
- neoadjuvant - tumor reduction before surgery;
- therapeutic - for common stages according to protocols;
- regimens with docetaxel and other drugs - as prescribed by the oncologist.
How the course works
Chemotherapy is carried out in cycles according to international protocols: the duration of the infusion depends on the regimen - from a 6-hour day stay to 24-72-hour infusions with accommodation in the ward (price list positions correspond to the duration and include the ward, food, premedication and staff work; the chemotherapy drugs themselves are as prescribed, docetaxel is available in “included” options). Modern accompanying therapy makes treatment tolerable: nausea is controlled in most patients. The port system (page in the surgery section) saves the veins from damage during long courses.
