Main Application
This is the most popular category in phlebologist practice. This knitwear is prescribed after laser obliteration, miniphlebectomy and sclerotherapy, as well as for severe varicose veins with edema and during pregnancy in patients with varicose veins. It is the correctly selected knitwear that largely determines the result of the operation: it prevents recanalization of the treated vein, reduces hematomas and speeds up recovery. Therefore, the selection is carried out before the intervention so that the product is ready at the time of the procedure.
Why is knitwear selected by a doctor?
Compression hosiery is a therapeutic product, not an accessory. Its action is based on a precisely calculated pressure gradient: maximum at the ankle and decreasing upward. This gradient only works if the size is chosen correctly.
The product “by eye” either does not create the necessary pressure and is useless, or it tightens and impairs blood circulation. In addition, with concomitant arterial insufficiency, compression is contraindicated - only a doctor can evaluate this.
Compression classes
- preventive – during long flights, standing work, pregnancy
- Class 1 - initial manifestations, heaviness and swelling in the evening, prevention
- Class 2 - severe varicose veins, condition after surgery and sclerotherapy
- Class 3 - chronic venous insufficiency, trophic disorders, lymphedema
How to wear it correctly
Knitwear is put on in the morning without getting out of bed, while swelling is minimal, and removed before bed. Wash by hand at a temperature no higher than 40 degrees, do not wring or dry on a radiator - high temperature destroys elastic fibers. With proper care, the product retains its healing properties for about six months.
