One-time session
One procedure is sufficient as a trial before the course (assessment of tolerability and tissue reaction) and to maintain the effect between courses in chronic conditions. The doctor selects the power and mode (continuous or pulsed), and for phonophoresis, the drug. Sustained resorption of scars and seals requires a course of treatment.
Indications
- chronic prostatitis with compaction and congestion - resolving effect;
- scars, adhesions, sclerosis after surgery and inflammation, Peyronie's disease (phonophoresis with lidase);
- chronic inflammatory diseases of the appendages and pelvic adhesions;
- arthrosis, tendinitis, heel spur, epicondylitis;
- postoperative infiltrates and compactions.
Contraindications
- malignant tumors and suspicion of them in the affected area;
- acute infections with fever, purulent processes before drainage;
- bleeding and tendency to it;
- pacemaker (for electro- and magnetic therapy), metal implants in the treatment area;
- pregnancy (to affect the pelvic and abdominal area);
- decompensated heart disease, epilepsy (individually).
How it works
Ultrasonic vibrations provide micromassage at the cellular level, loosen scar tissue, improve permeability and blood flow, and reduce inflammation. With phonophoresis, ultrasound “conducts” the medicine (lidase, hydrocortisone, anti-inflammatory gels) into deep tissues. In urology it is used for chronic prostatitis, Peyronie's disease and scars after operations; course 5–10 procedures.
