Course of 5 procedures
Five sessions is the minimum course, during which a cumulative effect is manifested: after 2-3 procedures, pain and spasm decrease, by the 5th, blood flow and organ function improve. The doctor selects the type of current (SMT, DDT, interference, electrical stimulation) and the area for the diagnosis, and if necessary, extends the course to 10 sessions. The course is combined with prostate massage, medications and other physiotherapy methods.
Indications
- chronic prostatitis and pelvic pain syndrome - stimulation and pain relief;
- urinary disorders, overactive and hypotonic bladder, incontinence (electrical stimulation of the pelvic floor muscles);
- back pain, joint pain, neuritis, recovery from injuries and operations;
- chronic inflammatory diseases of the pelvic organs in women (not exacerbation);
- muscle atrophy and weakness after prolonged immobility.
Contraindications
- malignant tumors and suspicion of them in the affected area;
- acute infections with fever, purulent processes before drainage;
- bleeding and tendency to it;
- pacemaker (for electro- and magnetic therapy), metal implants in the treatment area;
- pregnancy (to affect the pelvic and abdominal area);
- decompensated heart disease, epilepsy (individually).
How it works
Pulsed currents of low and medium frequency stimulate nerve endings and muscles, improve blood flow and lymphatic drainage, relieve spasm and pain, accelerate the resorption of edema and infiltrate. In urology, electrotherapy is used to improve prostate drainage, train the pelvic floor muscles for incontinence, and relieve pain; in gynecology - for chronic inflammation of the appendages and adhesions. A course of 5–10 procedures consolidates the effect.
