Parapsoriasis
Parapsoriasis is a group of chronic skin diseases that cause pinkish or yellowish-brown patches with thin peeling. The name means “similar to psoriasis”: externally, the rashes resemble psoriatic plaques, but they are structured differently and hardly bother a person - there is usually no itching or it is mild. The reason is not fully understood; we are talking about a long-term reaction of T-lymphocytes in the skin. The disease is not contagious and is not transmitted by contact. The main task of the doctor is to distinguish parapsoriasis from psoriasis, eczema and fungal infections, and in the case of large plaque form, to monitor the skin, since over time it can develop into early forms of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma.

Athlete's inguinal
Athlete's groin is a fungal infection of the skin of the inguinal folds caused by dermatophytes. The fungus loves heat, moisture and friction, so men, athletes, overweight people and anyone who spends a lot of time in the heat wearing thick clothing are more likely to get sick. The typical picture is itchy reddish spots with a distinct raised edge and a lighter center that spread from the crease to the inner surface of the thigh. The scrotum usually remains intact, and this is an important distinguishing feature. The disease responds well to external treatment, but tends to return if the moisture is not eliminated and the foot fungus is not treated.

Pediculosis (lice)
Pediculosis is an infestation with lice, small wingless insects that live on human skin and feed on blood. Head lice are most common, especially in children 5–12 years old and in organized groups. Lice do not jump or fly, but crawl through close contact head to head, and less often through combs, elastic bands, hats and pillows. Infestation has nothing to do with cleanliness: both clean and dirty hair are equally suitable for lice. The main complaint is itching of the scalp, especially behind the ears and on the back of the head. Pediculosis can be easily treated at home, but it is important to carry out the treatment correctly and repeat it on time.

Diaper dermatitis
Diaper dermatitis is an inflammation of the skin in the area covered by the diaper: the buttocks, groin, genitals and lower abdomen. It is very common in young children, especially in the second half of the first year of life. The reason is prolonged contact of the skin with urine and feces, moisture, friction and violation of its protective layer. Damaged skin is easily infected by Candida fungi and bacteria. Dermatitis usually goes away within a few days with proper care: frequent diaper changes, air baths and protective creams. If the rash does not improve within 3 days, spreads, or blisters and pustules appear, the child should be shown to a pediatrician.

Perianal dermatitis
Perianal dermatitis is an inflammation of the skin around the anus, which is manifested by itching, burning, redness, weeping and cracking. The skin here is thin, constantly in folds and in contact with moisture, so it is easily damaged. There is rarely one reason: irritation from the contents of the intestines with frequent bowel movements or leakage, excessive hygiene with soap and wet wipes, as well as proctological problems - hemorrhoids, fissure, fistula - are often combined. Separately, fungal and bacterial infections, helminthic infestations in children, psoriasis and diabetes mellitus are considered. That is why treatment begins not with an ointment, but with a search for the cause: without eliminating it, the itching returns again and again.

Perioral dermatitis
Perioral dermatitis is a chronic inflammatory disease of the facial skin, in which small red nodules, pustules and peeling appear around the mouth, and sometimes near the wings of the nose and near the eyes. A characteristic detail is a narrow strip of clean skin right at the edge of the lips. Young women and children are more often affected. The exact cause is unknown, but the leading role is played by creams with glucocorticosteroids, heavy cosmetics and disruption of the skin's protective barrier. The disease is not contagious and is not dangerous to health, but it causes severe cosmetic discomfort and is prone to recurrence. Treatment requires patience: improvement occurs after a few weeks, and hormonal ointments, which give a quick effect, ultimately worsen the course.

Pyogenic granuloma
Pyogenic granuloma is a rapidly growing benign formation of overgrown small vessels. The name is misleading: it is not purulent or infectious, but represents an excessive tissue reaction to damage. Usually, at the site of a small wound, injection or hangnail, a bright red or purple nodule on a thin stalk, often the size of a pea, grows over a few weeks. Its main feature is profuse bleeding from the slightest touch, which is why the bandage has to be changed several times a day. Most often, the formation appears on the fingers, lips, face and gums, including in pregnant women.

Pyoderma
Pyoderma is the general name for purulent skin inflammations caused by bacteria, most often staphylococci and streptococci. These microbes live on the skin and mucous membranes of healthy people and become dangerous when the barrier is broken: after scratching, abrasions, shaving, when sweating or against a background of reduced immunity. Manifestations are very different - from superficial pustules and honey crusts in children to deep painful nodes and carbuncles. Superficial forms are treated with external means, deep ones require oral antibiotics, and sometimes opening the abscess by a surgeon. You cannot extrude elements yourself.

Squamous cell skin cancer
Squamous cell skin cancer is the second most common malignant skin tumor after basal cell. It develops from cells of the surface layer of the skin and occurs mainly in areas that have received the sun for years: the face, ears, lower lip, scalp in balding men, the back of the hands. It looks like a hard nodule, a rough crusty plaque, or an ulcer that does not heal for weeks and bleeds easily. Unlike basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma can metastasize to the lymph nodes, so the earlier the diagnosis is made and the tumor is removed, the higher the chance of complete cure.

Heat rash
Miliaria is a rash that occurs when the ducts of the sweat glands are blocked, when sweat cannot reach the surface of the skin and seeps into the surrounding tissue. It most often appears in infants, whose sweat glands are still immature, as well as in adults in hot, humid weather, fever, bed rest and wearing synthetic clothing. It appears as small blisters or red nodules on the neck, folds, chest and back, sometimes with itching and tingling. Miliaria is not contagious and usually goes away on its own within a few days if you cool the skin and eliminate overheating. The main thing is not to wrap the child up and not to smear the rash with greasy creams.
