What can be corrected with filler
Hyaluronic acid replenishes volume where it is lost or insufficient: nasolabial and tear grooves, cheekbones, chin, lips. The gel is hydrophilic - attracts water, therefore additionally moisturizes the tissue. The effect is visible immediately, is finally assessed 10–14 days after the edema subsides and lasts from 6 to 18 months depending on the density of the drug and the area. An important advantage: if the result is unsatisfactory, hyaluronic acid can be dissolved with the enzyme hyaluronidase - this is what makes it fundamentally different from permanent fillers. The drug is paid for separately.
Injection techniques: what do they solve?
Injection procedures occupy an intermediate position between skincare cosmetology and surgery. They do not lift sagging tissues, but effectively work with expression wrinkles, lack of volume and skin quality - without incisions and long recovery.
The general rule: the more pronounced the age-related changes, the less the return on injections. With significant tissue ptosis, they provide only a partial effect, and the surgeon honestly warns about this.
Main groups
- botulinum toxin - relaxes facial muscles, smoothing wrinkles on the forehead, between the eyebrows and around the eyes
- hyaluronic acid fillers - replenish volume, fill folds, enlarge lips
- mesothreads - create a reinforcing frame in tissues
- sclerotherapy - eliminates spider veins on the legs
What does the doctor warn you about?
All these methods are reversible and require repetition: the effect of botulinum toxin lasts 4–6 months, fillers last from six months to a year and a half. The cost of the drug is usually paid separately from the procedure itself, since it depends on the volume and brand.
