Leukocytosis only in the urethra explains dysuria without cystitis; changes in the cervical canal require attention before any intrauterine procedures (hysteroscopy, IUD - a clean smear is required in the clinic). The full three-point format is the standard for preoperative examination and diagnosis for mixed complaints.
When is it appointed?
- discharge, itching, odor - diagnosis of vaginitis;
- routine examination by a gynecologist and preparation for operations;
- pregnancy - screening by trimester;
- recurrent inflammation - culture with antibiogram;
- control after treatment.
Three dots - the whole picture
Each point is responsible for its own: the urethra catches urethritis, the vagina shows the balance of the flora and the degree of purity, the cervical canal - inflammation of the cervix, the “gate” of ascending infection. Microscopy distinguishes bacterial vaginosis (clue cells), candidiasis (mycelium) and trichomoniasis in one day; culture clarifies stubborn cases by quantity and sensitivity. The sampling is part of a gynecologist’s examination; treatment is prescribed without unnecessary visits.
