Universal damage marker
An isolated increase in LDH triggers a search: reticulocytes and bilirubin (hemolysis?), CPK (muscle?), imaging (organ infarction, tumor?). In oncology, the indicator is included in the prognostic scales for lymphomas and germ cell tumors and monitors the response to treatment. Hemolysis during sampling inflates the result - the laboratory monitors this. The second position of the price list is in the “Options and Prices” block.
When is it appointed?
- monitoring liver function and protein status (albumin);
- cholestasis and bone metabolism (alkaline phosphatase);
- tissue damage, hemolysis, tumor monitoring (LDG);
- preoperative examination and follow-up.
Why do the same tests cost different things?
In the clinic’s price list, a number of biochemical indicators are presented in two positions with different prices: they differ in the performing laboratory, reagent system and issuance period, while the determined indicator, units of measurement and clinical interpretation are the same. For routine control, choose a more accessible position; if necessary, maintain continuity with previous analyzes (comparing dynamics in one system) - the one in which you took it before. The doctor will tell you if this is important.
