Uncomplicated appendicitis
For catarrhal and phlegmonous forms, the operation is standard: revision of the abdominal cavity (at the same time other causes of pain are excluded - Meckel's diverticulum, pathology of the appendages in women), mobilization of the appendage with coagulation of the mesentery, treatment of the base with two endoloops, extraction in a container without contact with wounds - therefore, suppuration of punctures is extremely rare. Drainage is usually not required. Already in the evening the patient walks and drinks, the pain is moderate; Puncture marks are hardly noticeable after six months.
Indications
- acute appendicitis - emergency surgery to confirm the diagnosis;
- complicated forms: gangrenous, perforated appendicitis, local peritonitis, infiltration with abscess formation;
- chronic appendicitis with repeated attacks (planned).
Laparoscopy for appendicitis
Laparoscopic appendectomy has a double advantage: the camera first confirms the diagnosis (if the picture is unclear in women, gynecological causes are excluded), then the appendix is removed through the same punctures - the base is treated with loops or a stapler, the appendix is removed in a container, the cavity is washed and drained if necessary. Compared to an incision, there is less pain and wound complications, shorter hospitalization, faster return to activity, better cosmetic results. The diagnosis before surgery is confirmed by examination, tests and ultrasound/MSCT.
Benefits of laparoscopy
Laparoscopic access is the standard of modern abdominal surgery: instead of a 10–20 cm incision, 3–4 punctures are left, the pain after surgery is much less, the patient gets up on the day of surgery and is discharged after 1–2 days, the risk of wound infection, hernias in the scar and adhesions is several times lower, and the enlargement of the camera allows you to operate more accurately. In the clinics below, operations are performed by surgeons with extensive laparoscopic experience; hospital (SKD) is included in the price according to the price list.
