Extensive rashes
Condylomas and multiple condylomas are more common with reduced immunity, diabetes, and prolonged course without treatment. The doctor removes the elements layer by layer, preserving as much healthy skin as possible; if a large area is affected, the procedure is divided into two visits with an interval of 2–3 weeks to avoid a large wound surface. Histology of large elements is required (exclusion of Buschke-Levenshtein tumor), urethroscopy for condylomas at the external opening of the urethra, immunotherapy and observation for 6 months.
Condylomas and HPV
Genital warts are growths on the skin and mucous membrane of the genital organs, caused by the human papillomavirus (usually types 6 and 11), which is sexually transmitted. They are contagious, grow and coalesce, and can affect the urethra and perianal area. Removal eliminates elements and reduces transmission of the virus, but not HPV itself, so relapses are possible (20–30%) - they are reduced by immunotherapy and treatment of the partner. In the price list of clinics, the cost depends on the number of elements.
Removal methods
A radio wave knife (Surgitron) and a laser remove condylomas without contact with minimal scarring and bleeding; electrocoagulation is effective for small elements; cryodestruction - for single cases. Large and atypical elements must be examined histologically to exclude giant condyloma and cancer. Healing 7-14 days without scarring with careful technique.
