Critical first hours
It is the first hours that determine the smoothness of the recovery: in the ICU, any deviation is visible on the monitor and is corrected immediately - pain relief is titrated, drainage and diuresis are taken into account, warming and respiratory support are provided as needed. Once stabilized, the patient is transferred to a regular ward. This is a safety protocol for complex surgery.
