Control and correction
Based on the results, the doctor clarifies the diagnosis and “adjusts” therapy: doses of antihypertensives according to the pressure diary, antibiotics according to dynamics, iron to control anemia. Preoperative patients receive a final conclusion after correction of the comments (sugar compensation, consultation with a cardiologist in case of findings on the ECG). Chronic patients agree on a routine follow-up schedule.
Indications
- ARVI, cough, fever, weakness - diagnosis and treatment;
- hypertension, shortness of breath, edema - examination of the cardiovascular system;
- preoperative examination with admission to elective surgery;
- chronic diseases - selection and correction of therapy;
- deciphering tests and examinations, “I don’t know who” is the starting point.
Therapist in a surgical clinic
The key role of the therapist here is perioperative: assess cardiopulmonary risks, compensate for blood pressure and sugar, adjust medications (anticoagulants!) and give reasonable admission to anesthesia - this makes the planned operation safe. At the same time, the therapist conducts the usual outpatient appointments: infections, hypertension, anemia, “analysis” of tests; if necessary, routes to specialized clinic specialists and prescribes IVs/injections in the treatment room.
