Gentle to the veins
The speed of administration is the key to the safety of IV injections: drugs are administered according to the instructions (some only diluted and very slowly), the hand is fixed comfortably, and after the injection a pressure bandage is applied. For “complicated” veins, a butterfly catheter is used; For long courses, the nurse will recommend inserting a peripheral catheter for several days.

Home injections from a “familiar nurse” are a common source of abscesses and phlebitis; the treatment room guarantees asepsis, correct technique (depth, speed, dilution), compatibility of solutions and observation after administration - important conditions for antibiotics and drugs with a risk of reactions.
