Healing control
Each dressing is a point of control: color and discharge, condition of the sutures, signs of complications (infiltration, seroma) - if in doubt, a doctor immediately gets involved, which prevents big problems with small means. Materials are selected according to the phase of the wound (atraumatic mesh, absorbent, film). Patients receive a home care reminder between visits.
Indications
- postoperative wounds - regular dressings before removal of sutures;
- functioning drainages (nephrostomy, cholecystostomy, wound) - planned replacement and care;
- preparing the intestines for studies, operations and procedures;
- constipation as prescribed by a doctor - one-time emptying.
Small procedures make a big difference
Wound healing and the functioning of the drainage depend on regular professional care: dressing is an assessment of the dynamics with a doctor's eye (the nurse escalates any doubts to the doctor), and timely replacement of the drainage tube prevents obstruction and infection - carriers of nephrostomy and cholecystostomy are treated on a schedule without hospitalization. Enemas are performed delicately and technically: proper preparation is the key to an informative colonoscopy and a smooth operation.
