Why is the technique important?
Blood pressure is an indicator that is very easy to measure incorrectly. The cuff is not the right size, the position of the arm below or above the level of the heart, talking during the measurement, incomplete rest before the procedure - each of these factors gives an error of 5-15 mm Hg. Art. and may lead to erroneous prescription or discontinuation of therapy. Proper technique includes resting for 5 minutes, sitting with your back supported, arm at heart level, a suitable cuff, and measuring on both arms at the first visit. The nurse will also explain the rules for home monitoring - it is home measurements that provide the most valuable information for selecting treatment.
Treatment room work
The treatment room carries out doctor's orders: injections and infusions, installation of venous catheters, lavages, enemas, monitoring of vital indicators. Everything is done with sterile disposable instruments - this fundamentally distinguishes the procedure in the clinic from an injection “at home” without observing asepsis.
The nurse works strictly according to the prescription sheet: without it, the procedure is not performed, since the dose, frequency and method of administration are the doctor’s area of responsibility.
