At 11–13 weeks, deviations of the free β-subunit change the calculated risk of syndromes - delivery strictly within the prescribed time frame with ultrasound data. In men, the marker is required for testicular tumors: growth indicates a germinal component, dynamics controls treatment. Interpretation - only by a specialized doctor.
When is it appointed?
- assessment of ovarian reserve before planning and IVF;
- confirmation and monitoring of early pregnancy (hCG);
- male infertility - inhibin B as a marker of spermatogenesis;
- forecast of response to ovulation stimulation;
- control after ectopic pregnancy and curettage.
Reserve and pregnancy
AMH shows the supply of follicles regardless of the day of the cycle - the main guideline for reproductive plans and IVF protocols; HCG confirms pregnancy days before the delay and monitors its development based on the dynamics of doubling; inhibin B reflects the functioning of Sertoli cells in men and granulosa cells in women. These tests answer the couple's most pressing questions with precise numbers.
