OKI according to the rules
Culture before antibiotics identifies the pathogen with sensitivity - important in protracted and severe forms, where empiricism has not worked. Control cultures cover sick leaves for food workers and medical workers. Result 4–6 days; a serious condition (blood, dehydration) is a reason to see a doctor, not to wait for a culture.
When is it appointed?
- abdominal pain, stool disorders - basic coprogram;
- colon cancer screening - occult blood (45+);
- diarrhea - cultures, calprotectin, parasites;
- dyspepsia - non-invasive Helicobacter test;
- control after treatment of helminth infections and intestinal infections.
Non-invasive bowel exploration
Feces talks about the gastrointestinal tract without probes: a coprogram evaluates digestion, occult blood screens for polyps and cancer, calprotectin separates inflammatory bowel diseases from IBS (saving some patients from colonoscopy, and justifying it urgently for others), Helicobacter antigen replaces gastroscopy in the control of eradication, cultures decipher infections and dysbiosis. Correct collection is a prerequisite for reliability.
