Prostate under a microscope
Leukocytosis of secretions in “clean” urine localizes the problem to the gland; a normal secretion in typical complaints shifts the diagnosis to pelvic pain syndrome - antibiotics are not needed there, other methods work (SWT, physiotherapy - in the clinic). The sampling is combined with an examination by a urologist; the result is ready by the end of the appointment.
When is it appointed?
- chronic prostatitis - microscopy and culture of secretions;
- discharge from the urethra, burning - smear with microscopy;
- control of treatment of prostatitis and urethritis;
- pain in the perineum, changes in PSA - inflammatory component;
- preparation for IVF programs.
Diagnostics at the source
The secretion of the prostate is a direct “report” of the gland: leukocytes above 10 in the field of view and a decrease in lecithin grains confirm inflammation, culture names the pathogen. A smear from the urethra is the first to catch urethritis, giving symptoms of “prostatitis”. The material is taken by a urologist with the correct technique - the information content depends on it; research and interpretation take place in one place, treatment is prescribed immediately.
