Schizotypal disorder
Schizotypal disorder belongs to the schizophrenia spectrum, but occurs without full-blown psychosis. He is characterized by persistent emotional detachment, eccentric behavior and unusual thinking: a penchant for magical ideas, belief in special abilities, suspicion, pretentious or overly detailed speech. A person may live apart for years, have difficulty forming close relationships, and experience severe discomfort in company. At the same time, self-criticism is partially preserved, but there are no persistent delusions and constant hallucinations. The course is long, with periods of deterioration due to stress; Some people develop schizophrenia over time. The diagnosis is made only by a psychiatrist after long-term observation, and early treatment makes life much easier.

Schizophrenia
Schizophrenia is a chronic mental illness that affects thinking, perception, emotions, and the ability to distinguish between one’s own experiences and reality. Most often, the disease begins in adolescence or in young adults, often gradually: first, interests change, the circle of friends narrows, academic performance drops, and only then delusions and hallucinations appear. A common misconception is to consider schizophrenia to be a split personality disorder; in fact, it is a disorder of the integrity of thinking and perception. The disease is treatable: modern medications significantly reduce symptoms, and early initiation of therapy significantly improves long-term prognosis.

Alzheimer's disease
Alzheimer's disease is the most common cause of dementia and accounts for the majority of cases of acquired memory and thinking loss in the elderly. The main difficulty is that the onset of the disease is almost always attributed to age: “grandmother has become forgetful, this is normal.” Age-related memory loss is normal, but it has clear differences from dementia. And although it is not yet possible to stop the disease, early treatment gives years of a safer and more independent life, and the family time to prepare.
