Diagnostic and therapeutic massage
The first massage is usually performed to obtain secretions: a drop of released secretion is examined under a microscope (leukocytes, lecithin grains), sown on flora with sensitivity to antibiotics - this is the basis for diagnosing prostatitis. The treatment course is prescribed for confirmed chronic prostatitis and congestion: sessions every other day, 8–10 procedures, with a confidential assessment of the dynamics. The correct technique is gentle movements from the periphery to the center without pressure on the urethra; for pain, the intensity is reduced.
Indications and contraindications
Prostate massage is used for chronic bacterial and abacterial prostatitis, congestion in the gland, to obtain prostate secretions for analysis and culture. It improves the outflow of secretions from the ducts, blood circulation and penetration of antibiotics. Contraindicated in acute prostatitis, abscess, prostate cancer and stones, acute hemorrhoids, rectal fissures, acute urinary retention.
How it goes
The patient is positioned in the knee-elbow position or on the side; a urologist wearing a glove with gel inserts a finger into the rectum and for 1–2 minutes massages the right and left lobes from the periphery to the center, then along the median sulcus. The first sessions may be sensitive; if pain is severe, the intensity is reduced. The secreted secretion is examined under a microscope and sown on flora.
