Child's head injury
Head contusion is the most common injury in children: babies fall from the sofa and changing table, preschoolers fall from slides and swings. In most cases, the matter is limited to damage to soft tissues: a bump, abrasion or bruise appears, but the brain is not affected. The lump forms quickly because there are many vessels on the cranial vault, and its size does not indicate the severity of the injury. The danger is posed by concussion and more serious injuries, which may not appear immediately, but after several hours. Therefore, the main thing for parents is to know the signs when you need to immediately seek help, and observe the child for the first 24 hours.

Knee bruise
Knee contusion is damage to the soft tissue around the joint without ligament rupture or bone fracture. When an impact or fall occurs, the skin, subcutaneous tissue, muscles and small vessels are damaged, which is why pain, swelling and bruising quickly appear. In most cases, this injury heals on its own within one to two weeks. But the knee is a complex joint, and a harmless-looking bruise sometimes hides a meniscal injury, a torn ligament, a bone fracture, or a collection of blood inside the joint. One should be wary of the rapid increase in swelling, the inability to step on the leg, blockage of the joint and persistent pain after several days.

Bruised tailbone
A coccyx bruise is a closed injury to the soft tissues and periosteum in the lower spine, most often after a fall on the buttocks. The tailbone is located directly under the skin and is almost not protected by muscles, so even a slight blow causes severe pain. Added to this is hemorrhage into the surrounding tissues and irritation of the ligaments that attach to the coccyx. The main complaint is pain when sitting, standing and bending, and sometimes when defecating. The sensation of a bruise is difficult to distinguish from a fracture or dislocation, so if the pain is severe, it is worth taking a photo. Healing usually takes from two weeks to one and a half months.

Bruised ribs
Bruised ribs - damage to the soft tissues of the chest without compromising the integrity of the bone: the muscles between the ribs, the periosteum, small vessels and nerves are affected. Occurs during a blow, fall, compression of the chest or in an accident. The main complaint is pain at the site of impact, which sharply intensifies with a deep breath, coughing, laughing and turning the body. It is because of pain that a person begins to breathe shallowly, and this increases the risk of congestion in the lungs, especially in the elderly. The doctor’s main task is to exclude rib fractures and lung damage. The bruise itself is treated with rest and pain relief, and healing usually takes 2–4 weeks.

Whiplash neck injury
Whiplash is an injury to the soft tissue of the neck that occurs when the head is suddenly thrown back and then thrown forward, like the tip of a whip. The classic situation is being hit by a car from behind, but the same thing happens during a fall, in contact sports and on amusement rides. In this case, the bones usually remain intact, but the muscles, ligaments, and capsules of small joints of the spine suffer. Characteristic feature: in the first hours a person feels normal, but pain and stiffness in the neck increases after a day or two. Most people recover within a few weeks, and the main condition for recovery is not to immobilize the neck with a collar for a long time, but to return to movement early.

Kidney and urinary tract injury
Injury to the urinary system occurs in road accidents, falls from a height, blows to the lumbar region and fractures of the pelvic bones. The kidney is protected by ribs and muscles, but is damaged by strong impact. The main sign that cannot be ignored is blood in the urine after an injury, even if it appears once and you feel satisfactory.
