Gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST)
Gastrointestinal stromal tumor is a rare neoplasm of the digestive tract that does not grow from the mucous membrane, like ordinary cancer, but from special cells of the muscle layer that control intestinal contractions. Most often it occurs in the stomach, less often in the small intestine. The tumor grows for a long time under the unchanged mucosa, so it is often found by chance during gastroscopy, ultrasound, or surgery for another reason. It manifests itself as hidden bleeding with anemia, heaviness in the abdomen, less often pain or a palpable formation. The behavior of tumors varies: some remain harmless for years, others are capable of metastasizing, so a risk assessment by a specialist is needed.

Liver hemangioma
Hemangioma is the most common benign liver tumor, which is a tangle of dilated vessels surrounded by normal liver tissue. This is not cancer or a precancerous condition: it does not degenerate into a malignant tumor, does not disrupt liver function, and in the vast majority of cases does not require treatment. It is found accidentally during an ultrasound performed for any reason, more often in middle-aged women. Most hemangiomas are small, stable in size and do not cause complaints. The main task of the doctor is to reliably confirm the benign nature of the formation, which sometimes requires tomography with contrast, and to reassure the patient.

Fat necrosis of the breast
Fat necrosis of the breast is a benign change in which an area of fatty tissue dies due to impaired blood supply and is replaced by inflammatory and scar tissue. Most often this is a consequence of a blow, a fall, compression by a seat belt, as well as chest surgery, lipofilling and radiation therapy. Sometimes a woman does not remember the injury at all. The main problem of fat necrosis is not medical, but diagnostic: it forms a dense, fixed nodule, can retract the skin and give calcifications on mammography, that is, it looks very similar to a malignant tumor. Therefore, it almost always needs to be confirmed by examination.

Insulinoma
Insulinoma is a rare tumor of the pancreas that produces insulin regardless of blood sugar levels. Normally, insulin is released in response to food, but with this tumor it is constantly released, so sugar drops, especially on an empty stomach, at night and after exercise. Attacks are manifested by weakness, sweating, trembling, a feeling of hunger, and with a pronounced decrease - confusion, strange behavior, convulsions and loss of consciousness. People quickly notice that eating relieves symptoms and begin to eat more often, which often results in weight gain. Most insulinomas are benign and small in size; The main treatment method is surgical removal, after which the person recovers.

Polycythemia vera (erythremia)
Polycythemia vera, or erythremia, is a chronic bone marrow disease from the group of myeloproliferative neoplasms. Due to an acquired mutation, most often in the JAK2 gene, progenitor cells begin to produce red blood cells without an external signal, and the blood becomes thick. Often, leukocytes and platelets increase simultaneously. Thick blood flows worse through the vessels, so the main danger of the disease is thrombosis: heart attack, stroke, thrombosis of deep veins and abdominal vessels. The disease develops slowly, and its first sign is often accidentally noticed high hemoglobin in a routine analysis. With proper treatment, life expectancy can be close to normal.

Cutaneous horn
The cutaneous horn is a dense outgrowth of compacted horny substance that rises above the skin and actually looks like a small horn or claw. Colorectal cancer (colon cancer)
Colorectal cancer is a malignant tumor of the colon or rectum, one of the most common cancers in the world. In most cases, it develops slowly, over 10–15 years, from benign polyps - adenomas. This makes colorectal cancer one of the few that can not only be detected early, but also prevented: removing the polyp during a colonoscopy interrupts the path to cancer. In the early stages, the tumor usually does not cause symptoms, but blood in the stool, changes in stool, anemia and weight loss appear later. Oral leukoplakia
Leukoplakia of the oral cavity is a white or grayish spot on the mucous membrane that cannot be removed with a spatula and is not explained by another disease. Appears on the inner surface of the cheeks, tongue, floor of the mouth, red border of the lips and on the gums. It occurs as a response of the mucous membrane to prolonged irritation: tobacco, including chewing and nasvay, strong alcohol, sharp edges of teeth and dentures. The spot itself usually does not hurt, and that is why it is noticed late. The main thing you need to know: leukoplakia is considered a precancerous change - in some patients it eventually turns into squamous cell carcinoma. Therefore, any persistent white spot requires examination by a doctor and, usually, a biopsy.

Lymphoma of the skin (mycosis fungoides)
Mycosis fungoides is the most common T-cell lymphoma of the skin. The name is historical and misleading: the disease has nothing to do with a fungal infection. Its essence is that malignant T-lymphocytes settle in the skin and cause inflammatory changes that are externally indistinguishable from eczema, psoriasis or allergic dermatitis. That is why years often pass from the appearance of the first spots to the diagnosis: a person is treated for a long time by a dermatologist, receives a temporary improvement and returns again with the same complaints. Most patients have a slow-onset form in which the disease is limited to the skin for decades.
