Department of Cardiology at Vitamed Medical Clinic

“The plague of the 20th century” is what doctors called cardiovascular diseases in the last century. And there is good reason for this. Until now, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), it is cardiovascular pathology that occupies a leading place in the structure of mortality among the adult population of economically developed countries.

Poor environmental conditions, hard work and other reasons affect the state of the cardiovascular system. However, one of the main reasons is people’s lack of attention to their health.

Our cardiologists are ready to provide assistance with any cardiac diseases.

You should consult a cardiologist if:

Severe shortness of breath appeared;

Your weight has increased significantly;

Pressure increases periodically;

Increased fatigue;

Dizziness, weakness, and severe sweating appeared;

Pain appeared in the chest or heart area;

Rheumatism;

Pre-fainting conditions or fainting themselves began to appear for no reason;

Changes in heartbeat are noticed;

You are planning a pregnancy.

The cause of 67% of deaths in Uzbekistan is cardiovascular diseases. Only a third of pathologies are diagnosed before the onset of a critical condition. It is timely diagnosis that saves patients’ lives!

One of the diagnostic methods used in the clinic is electrocardiography (ECG). It was invented more than 100 years ago. An ECG shows the function of the heart in conducting electrical impulses, and the following abnormalities can also be seen:

rhythm - acceleration, deceleration, extraordinary contractions, fibrillation;

organ nutrition with blood - ischemic disease;

conduction of the impulse - blockade.

The ECG shows only those deviations that the device recorded at the time of the examination.

To detect or exclude subtle abnormalities, such as arrhythmias, it is necessary to conduct Holter monitoring throughout the day.

Echocardiography (EchoCG) is indicated for coronary heart disease, pain of unknown origin in the heart area, congenital or acquired heart defects. The reason for its conduct may be a change in the electrocardiogram, heart murmurs, disturbances in its rhythm, hypertension, or the presence of signs of heart failure.

It is especially important to conduct echocardiography for diagnostic purposes in childhood, since during the process of intensive growth and development the child may experience various complaints.

A cardiac profile is a set of specific blood tests that allows you to assess the likelihood of recent damage to myocardial cells and evaluate risk factors for the development of heart and vascular diseases.

What are the indications for the cardiac profile?

vascular atherosclerosis;

coronary heart disease;

high blood pressure;

heart rhythm disturbances - tachycardia, arrhythmia;

stroke, heart attack.

A cardiac profile allows you to identify early and hidden lesions of the cardiovascular system, the risk of developing atherosclerosis, coronary heart disease and heart failure, and also assess the likelihood of myocardial infarction.

Today, the gold standard for visualization and diagnosis of obstruction of the coronary arteries (CA) is coronary angiography (CAG). Of the most modern methods, intravascular ultrasound has maximum sensitivity and 100% specificity.

However, the early stages of atherosclerosis, as a rule, do not lead to hemodynamically significant stenosis and may not be detected by coronary angiography. Therefore, special attention is paid to the development of new methods for diagnosing coronary pathology, including non-invasive ones. Among the requirements for modern research methods, we should note high specificity, sensitivity and accuracy, safety, high throughput and economic feasibility. The non-invasive method of multislice computed tomography (MSCT) has all these characteristics.

When performing MSCT of the heart with contrast, it is possible to reliably determine structural changes in the myocardium, in particular scar changes, hypertrophy, aneurysms, and cardiac clots.

Treadmill test-stress test with walking under ECG control. Throughout the entire stress test and during the recovery period, constant monitoring of the patient’s condition is carried out (continuous monitoring of ECG, heart rate and blood pressure).

The treadmill test is used for:

diagnosis of hidden manifestations of coronary insufficiency (coronary heart disease);

assessing the effectiveness of treatment and rehabilitation measures, including aftero myocardial infarction;

determining the nature of the reaction of the body's functional systems to stress (excessive rise or fall in blood pressure, degree of increase in heart rate, disturbances in heart rhythm and conduction);

determining the prognosis of the disease.
