Hysteroscopy

Colposcopy is a diagnostic method that allows you to identify many serious diseases of the cervix, including cancer, at the earliest stages. That is why colposcopy was included in the list of mandatory tests when undergoing a medical examination. The thing is that some gynecological diseases do not manifest themselves in any way at first. The first symptoms often appear when the disease is severe. That is why it is so important to identify any problem in due time and be sure to undergo treatment.

All women of childbearing age, that is, over 18 years of age, need to have a colposcopy. Any healthy woman should undergo this examination once a year. If you already have some gynecological diseases, the doctor may prescribe a colposcopy out of turn.

Hysterosalpingography (HSG, x-ray of the uterus and fallopian tubes) is a medical procedure that is performed to study the structure of the uterus and fallopian tubes and to check the patency of the fallopian tubes. This is a minimally invasive examination, the likelihood of complications developing is extremely low. It is carried out relatively quickly and makes it possible to obtain information about various anomalies that may cause infertility or miscarriage. In some cases, hysterosalpingography allows the lumen of the fallopian tubes to be restored and allows the patient to become pregnant. After completion of the examination, no radiation remains in the patient’s body. When used for diagnostic purposes, X-rays do not cause any side effects.

Hysteroscopy is an examination during which the doctor, through the woman's vagina, inserts a small video camera into the uterine cavity, which allows him to examine the inside of the uterus and cervix and, if necessary, perform some minor operations (for example, removal of polyps), without incisions or stitches.

Your doctor may order a hysteroscopy to identify the causes of symptoms such as:

Irregular or heavy vaginal bleeding;

Difficulty conceiving a child.

And also, for the purpose of treatment, if necessary, to eliminate:

Remnants of the placenta in the uterus after childbirth;

Adhesions in the uterine cavity;

To remove fibroids and uterine polyps.

Medical indications for hysteroscopy:

suspicion of endometriosis and adenomyosis;

suspicion of endometrial pathology;

infertility, unsuccessful IVF;

endometrial polyps;

suspicion of submucosal uterine fibroids;

abnormalities of the uterus;

adhesions (adhesions) in the uterine cavity;

cancer of the uterus and cervix;

preparation for pregnancy after cesarean section, myomectomy, uterine perforation to assess the viability of the scar;

menstrual cycle disorders in women of reproductive age, in the perimenopausal period, postmenopausal age;

the presence of an IUD in the uterine cavity for more than 5 years and if it is impossible to remove it by the wire threads;

control study after drug therapy, after instrumental termination of pregnancy, to control its quality.

Many experts advise visiting a gynecologist once a year to avoid gynecological diseases.

In what cases should you definitely consult a gynecologist:

To restore the menstrual cycle - If your cycle lasts 8-10 days, and is accompanied by severe nagging pain in the lower abdomen and lower back, a visit to the gynecologist should not be postponed under any circumstances.

Cure inflammatory diseases and infections. If you have symptoms - discharge, itching, pain, burning, do not wait, it will not go away on its own. There can be many reasons: chlamydia, thrush, bacterial vaginosis, etc.

Pain and bleeding during intimacy is another reason to immediately make an appointment with a gynecologist.

Prevent uterine fibroids. Fibroids are a benign tumor that, if left untreated, can grow to the size of a melon! Unfortunately, today fibroids are found in every fifth woman. Myoma grows quite quickly. If the process is running, you cannot do without an operation. And along with the fibroids, as a rule, the uterus is also removed

Prevent cancer. If you find a lump in the groin areaI, then this formation may turn out to be a sebaceous cyst or a soft fibroma.
