Magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) is a method of obtaining images of blood vessels using a magnetic resonance imaging machine. The method allows you to evaluate both anatomical and functional features of blood flow. MRA is based on the difference between the signal of moving tissue (blood) and the surrounding stationary tissue, which makes it possible to obtain images of blood vessels without the use of any radiocontrast agents. To obtain a clearer image, special contrast agents based on paramagnets (gadolinium) are used.

It is extremely important to note that the “open” type of MRI allows you to effectively examine children: complete orientation in space and the possibility of direct contact with parents almost completely eliminate psychological discomfort and motor restlessness of the child. The constructive solution of this tomograph model, the fundamental absence of a tunnel (pipe) system, also excludes moral and psychological depression of the patient and the development of claustrophobia during the study.
