What foods should you supplement your winter diet with?

American nutritionist Soni Narang shared tips on how to eat during the cold season. In particular, the expert touched upon a topic that worries many – what sweets you can afford at this time of year.

The nutritionist recommended that those with a sweet tooth eat sesame kozinaki with cane sugar during the cold months.

“Sesame is an excellent source of antioxidants, and cane sugar can reduce the risk of iron deficiency. Against the background of a general loss of energy, this sweetness will be an excellent addition to the diet,” says the specialist.

Indeed, in the autumn-winter period, complaints about lack of strength, drowsiness and bad mood become typical. According to Sonya Narang, in order to improve well-being, it is necessary for the body to receive vitamins A and C - they are especially effective in strengthening the immune system and are important for vision and skin. Therefore, in winter, oranges and carrots must be present in the diet.

You can also treat yourself to homemade cinnamon cookies without sugar or artificial fats, says the nutritionist: cinnamon stimulates the immune system and gives a burst of energy. In addition, in cold weather you should definitely eat nuts and seeds.

“Roasted or ground flax seeds along with pumpkin seeds or walnuts will provide an adequate serving of Omega-3s needed for the normal functioning of key body systems,” said Soni Narang.
