How do your kidneys hurt?

Kidney pain - aching pain just below the ribs, radiating (radiating pain) forward to the liver area (right hypochondrium in front), to the left hypochondrium on the left, to the lower abdomen on both sides, in men - to the scrotum. As a rule, the pain is aching, long-lasting, and exhausting. Most often, renal pain is unilateral and the same throughout the time of day. Particular attention should be paid to such additional symptoms as nausea, vomiting, fever, which are often mistaken for food poisoning and other problems with the digestive tract.
If lower back pain is accompanied by increased urination, which becomes painful or simply uncomfortable, you need to consult a urologist.

Causes of kidney pain

The causes of pain in the kidneys can be quite different:

• Urolithiasis, including renal colic,
• Inflammatory process – acute or chronic pyelonephritis,

• Kidney cancer,
• Large benign formations – renal cysts, renal angiomyolipoma,
• Glomerulonephritis,
• Nephroptosis – prolapse of the kidney,
