The image from the endoscope is displayed on a high-resolution monitor in natural color, which gives the endoscopist the opportunity to carefully study the smallest details - the condition of the mucosa and its changes, the depth and size of the focus or areas of inflammation, and other pathological formations of the mucosa. The endoscopic examination is recorded on a special medium and can be further analyzed after the end of the examination.
Video colonoscopy is a visual examination of the condition of the mucous membrane of the large intestine (this includes the cecum, ascending colon, transverse colon, descending colon, sigmoid colon, rectum). The total length of the large intestine is 1.5 to 2 m, starting from the anus. Video colonoscopy also allows you to study the functioning of the intestines in a particular patient - the tone and contractility of the intestines. When conducting a video endoscopic examination of the colon, a visual examination of the condition of the colon and rectum is performed.
Based on the results of videogastroscopy and videocolonoscopy, the issue of the need for surgical intervention to remove polyps, treat ulcers or malignant tumors is decided, and the tactics of drug treatment and diet are also determined.
