ENDOVENOUS LASER ABLATION at the VITAMED MEDICAL clinic

At the VITAMED MEDICAL clinic, a modern method of minimally invasive treatment of varicose veins - endovenous laser ablation - has been introduced into daily practice.

Endovenous laser ablation (EVLA) is a minimally invasive procedure performed to treat varicose veins. During the procedure, a laser light guide is inserted into the lumen of a varicose vein and, through exposure to laser radiation, “welds” its internal lining. This leads to the cessation of blood flow through the vein and subsequently to its resorption. As a result, venous blood flows through healthy veins, the phenomena of venous stagnation, symptoms such as heaviness and swelling of the legs, cramps in the calf muscles, and trophic disorders disappear. Thanks to Biolitec's special endovenous radial light guide, which has a small lens at the end, laser radiation is distributed throughout the vein as evenly as possible, without going beyond the vessel wall.

EVLA eliminates the need for incisions and does not require hospitalization of the patient. The EVLA procedure is performed using local anesthesia, under ultrasound control and lasts 45-60 minutes.

thrombotic complications. According to the literature, they occur with a frequency of 1 case per 10,000 operations and require special treatment. The risks of such complications are minimized with careful adherence to the postoperative regimen.
