Endoscopic maxillary sinusotomy at the VITAMED MEDICAL clinic.

SINUSITIS is an inflammation of the mucous membrane of the maxillary (maxillary) sinus. The inflammation process is activated when there is a violation of the free outflow of mucous secretions from the sinus (on one side or both) and due to a block (i.e. swelling and non-functionality of the natural sinus anastomosis). Under such conditions of stagnation, an ideal environment is created for the development of inflammatory processes, when the body experiences difficulties in fighting infection. Without restoring the normal physiology and biomechanics of the sinus mucosa, it is impossible to achieve the full therapeutic effect.

Endoscopic maxillary sinusotomy is very popular as a minimally invasive and more gentle technique. With endoscopic maxillary sinusotomy, the lip is not incised; the operation is performed through the nose. The procedure is virtually painless, characterized by minor swelling after surgery and does not leave scars.

Advantages of endoscopic maxillary sinusotomy over traditional surgery:

  • low morbidity;
  • minimal blood loss;
  • the ability to perform surgery on an outpatient basis;
  • quick rehabilitation period for the patient;
  • absence of cosmetic defect after surgery.

At the VITAMED MEDICAL clinic, surgeons from the Department of ENT Endoscopic Surgery conduct successful work. All surgical interventions are performed using the latest equipment from KarlStorz, CarlZeiss, Laser, Microdebridor, modern materials and medications.
