Director of the clinic "Andrologist and Me" Rakhmatullaev B.M. made a presentation at the scientific conference “Men’s health - a healthy generation”

On November 24-25, 2016, the Samarkand State Medical Institute is hosting a Republican scientific and practical conference with international participation “Men’s health - a healthy generation”, organized by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Samarkand State Medical Institute. More than 200 delegates took part in the conference, among whom were leading specialists and scientists from the Russian Federation and Uzbekistan.

The grand opening of the conference took place in the Assembly Hall of SamMI. The conference was opened with a welcoming speech by the rector of SamMI, Professor Azamat Mukhitdinovich Shamsiev. In his speech, Azamat Mukhitdinovich warmly welcomed the conference participants and wished them creative, fruitful work at the scientific forum.

A welcoming speech was also made by the head of the Department of Pediatric Surgery with a course of additional professional education at the Stavropol State Medical University, Professor S.V. Minaev, Deputy Director for Scientific Work of the Research Institute of Uronephrology and Human Reproductive Health, First Moscow State Medical University named after I.M. Sechenov Professor A.Z. Vinarov, Head of the Department of Public Health and Healthcare of the Izhevsk State Medical Academy, Professor N.M. Popova and Head of the Department of Urology and Nephrology of the Tashkent Institute for Advanced Medical Studies, Professor A.A. Gaibullaev.

Gaibullaev “Men’s health – a multidisciplinary approach” (Tashkent, Uzbekistan); I.A. Abushkin “Analysis of the effectiveness of subinguinal microsurgical varicocelectomy (Marmar J.L.) in children with varicocele” (Chelyabinsk, Russia); N.M. Popova “Characteristics of uroandrological, reproductive health of the male population and improvement of medical care in this population group at the regional level” (Izhevsk, Russia).

At the evening meeting chaired by Professor A.A. Gaibullaev heard 18 reports.

Guests were also given the opportunity to get acquainted with the conditions created at the Samarkand Medical Institute for students to receive high-quality medical education that meets modern requirements. When visiting the Information Resource Center of our institute, colleagues especially noted its equipment with computer and multimedia equipment, and the sufficient provision of students with the most modern educational literature and their electronic versions. Guests were also given the opportunity to get acquainted with the rich book collection of the library, numbering more than 300,000 textbooks and rare books from the late 19th to early 20th centuries, and modern foreign scientific publications.

During the visit, the guests noted that the modular system for organizing the educational process implemented at the institute is by far the most progressive. The conference participants especially noted the work of the Electronic Learning System (moodle.sammi.uz) and the educational and training center, which is equipped with the necessary simulating dummies and phantoms.  They also visited the museum of the Samarkand State Medical Institute and were impressed by the variety of exhibits.

As part of the cultural program of the conference, excursions to the city’s monuments, a visit to the “Oriental Bazaar”, as well as a performance at the El Merosi national costume theater were organized for guests.
