Therapeutic exercise for urological diseases in men
Since ancient times, physical exercise has been used as an effective therapeutic agent in the treatment of many diseases. A precisely calculated load ensures training of specific muscles and has a general healing effect. Even if the patient is in serious condition, he may be prescribed so-called passive gymnastics.
Depending on the nature of the disease and the degree of its manifestation, physical therapy can be prescribed as a daily morning warm-up, an evening training complex, and also as an additional means of rehabilitation (walking at a slow pace, turns, movements of the limbs, etc.).
Properly selected exercises stimulate the activity of the central nervous system (especially its sympathetic department), normalize the functioning of the kidneys, improve general and local blood circulation, strengthen the cardiovascular system, and eliminate the consequences of an unhealthy lifestyle (skeletal muscle spasms, hypodynamic symptoms). Some time after the start of classes, the patient’s immunity increases and lost functions are restored.
When diagnosing inflammatory processes in the genitourinary system, if the presence of cancer and severe concomitant pathology is excluded, experts recommend various sets of exercises. For example, physical activity on the muscles that support the spinal column (various bends, bends, rotations and turns of the torso, head, limbs) is very useful. It is also advisable to carry out exercises that strengthen the groin muscles. The first few classes are performed at a slow pace and with partial load, then the intensity of physical education is gradually increased.
Exercises for the calf and thigh muscles are also recommended, for example, pulling the heels towards the buttocks, spreading and closing bent and straightened limbs, the traditional “bicycle”, crossing the legs, rotating the hip joints, various squats, bends, and rocking.
Exercises designed to strengthen the oblique and rectus abdominal muscles have a beneficial effect on the condition of the pelvic organs, improve blood circulation, and eliminate signs of erectile dysfunction if it was associated with congestion in the genitourinary system.
Therapeutic and general health-improving physical education classes should be carried out no earlier than 1.5-2 hours after meals and no later than an hour before bedtime.
