Menopause in women
My years are my wealth.
At any stage of life, representatives of the fairer and weaker sex should be healthy, beautiful, loved, desired, cheerful, successful at home and at work. Age does not pass anyone by, which means that all the physiological changes caused by it do not pass by either. The most important of them relate to the decline of reproductive function, which accordingly entails changes in the external and internal world of women.
I would like to talk to you about the changes occurring in the bodies of women of elegant age.
The female reproductive system produces a reproductive cell every month, which, when combined with a sperm, allows the birth of a new life. To ensure it, the hypothalamus, pituitary gland, ovaries, and uterus work in a special way. Menopause is the disappearance of the chance to conceive a child, the slowdown and gradual decline of a woman’s reproductive abilities. It occurs at the age of 45-55 years, and has many signs other than the fading of menstrual function.
The cessation of menstruation does not happen overnight; this process can last a year or more. A doctor can determine that a woman has entered menopause only a year after her last period. And all this time the body is already working differently than before. The speed of this process, the time of its onset and duration are influenced by many circumstances: the number of births, abortions, operations on the reproductive organs, heredity, mainly through the female line, diseases not related to the reproductive sphere, infections suffered in adolescence, stress, environmental living conditions, chemotherapy. Normally, in women of fertile age, sex hormones influence the receptors of various organs involved in the renewal of the reproductive system: the uterus, mammary glands, vaginal surface, and pelvic floor muscles. The brain, blood vessels, bones, and bladder do not remain aloof from this. Accordingly, the manifestations of menopause in women, in the absence of the influence of the hormone, also affect these organs. They can be grouped into groups that have a common origin. But the reason that causes each is a decrease in the body's production of estrogen.
A woman’s mood often changes, from unnatural elation to excessive touchiness, tearfulness, causeless anxiety and irritability. In some cases, there is real depression that requires treatment. Some sufferers complain of a constantly present lump in the throat. In most cases, the cause of the manifestation may be a disease of the thyroid gland.
Hormonal imbalance affects the condition of blood vessels, they either shrink or unclench. Hot flashes cause headaches and heart pain. Menstruation comes much less frequently, and the volume of discharge also changes. For most, it becomes less, but some experience either heavy or scanty menstrual bleeding. Discharge also occurs between menstrual periods. The reduction and cessation of estrogen production makes thinning of the surface of the genitals and dryness inevitable. This applies to the eyes, mouth and vagina. Such signs of menopause owe their existence to poor circulation. Oxygen deficiency, insomnia, and a depressed emotional state lead to tissue dehydration.
One of the unpleasant signs of how menopause manifests itself is difficulty urinating. The desire to go to the toilet “in a small way” occurs more often and may be accompanied by pain. In some women, involuntary urination occurs with the slightest physical effort, even coughing or sneezing. This is caused by a weakening of the bladder sphincter. A decrease in estrogen leads to a decrease in the elasticity of the walls of the organ; it does not retain even a small amount of fluid so well. Decreased sexual desire A woman's libido decreases significantly during this period. Slow lipid metabolism often leads to weight gain. The woman is recovering, despite the fact that her appetite and diet remain the same. Disruption of mineral metabolism provokes a decrease in calcium in the structures of bones and teeth. They become more fragile 3-5 years after the onset of menopause. Failure of water metabolism leads to a noticeable decrease in skin elasticity. The epidermis becomes duller and drier, the number of wrinkles increases, and they become more pronounced. Hair becomes thinner and its density decreases. Does the woman need treatment? Menopause is a natural state at the appropriate age. But it is fraught with the threat of new diseases, including tumors, endocrine disorders, and anemia. However, when a woman has a hard time with menopause, treatment is necessary.
Dear women, if menopausal symptoms do not cause much discomfort, regular visits to the gynecologist should be maintained. It is better to see him 2 times a year, undergoing at the same time: ultrasound of the pelvic organs; cytology; mammography; blood test for biochemistry; cardiography.
Psychoprophylactic preparation of every woman for the transition period is important. It is advisable to use special complexes of physical therapy. General massage, walks before bedtime, and contrast showers improve the well-being of patients. During adolescence, systematic monitoring of body weight is especially necessary. The diet should be dominated by fruits and vegetables, vegetable fats. You should limit your carbohydrate intake. In the process of regulating the dietary regime, it is recommended to include vitamin preparations in the diet. Natural deficiency of vitamins during menopause can be covered by periodic administration of special vitamin complexes. It is especially advisable to use vitamins “A”, “E” and “C”. For the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis in menopausal syndrome, calcium supplements and mineral complexes are recommended.
At the initial stage, menopause is treated with lifestyle changes and medicinal herbs. Given the increased sweating, it is better to wear several blouses instead of one thick one, so that you can remove excess if necessary. To avoid irritation of the mucous membranes and walls of the bladder, you should not abuse spicy and salty foods. Strict diets are contraindicated; they create the preconditions for stress and increased hormonal changes. To relieve nervousness and increase overall tone, you can use: a soothing herbal bath. Drug therapy includes the prescription of hormonal drugs, antihypertensives and sedatives. During menopause, unpleasant symptoms and mandatory treatment in women can create a feeling of advancing old age. But those who consider this period a second youth are more right. There is a reason to pay more attention to health, leave grown children to their own devices, and not be afraid of an unwanted pregnancy.
