Nonspecific and aseptic prostatitis

What is nonspecific prostatitis?

This term is used in cases where the causative agent of the disease is not a representative of infections that are classified as sexually transmitted diseases. That is: not gonorrhea, not trichomonas, not syphilis, etc.

At its core, it can be any infectious agent that causes an inflammatory process. However, this fact does not mean that it is easier to cope with this form of prostatitis. Quite the contrary. In order to determine what kind of pathogen it is, microscopy of secretions, culture with determination of sensitivity to antibiotics, and the prescription of auxiliary drugs - stimulants - are often required.

What is aseptic prostatitis?

This is one of the most poorly understood problems in urology. It is believed that under certain circumstances an inflammatory process may develop in the prostate tissue, the culprit of which will not be a bacterial factor, but a complex of other causes.

Among them are:
• deterioration of blood circulation in small blood vessels due to lack of physical activity, diet with insufficient amounts of vegetables and fruits, etc. Unfortunately, a person can rarely objectively determine the presence or absence of physical activity in his life or proper nutrition (the number of servings of vegetables and fruits is at least 3-4!).

• changes in the processes associated with emptying the bladder, in which part of the urine enters the prostate. This reason is invisible and not felt by a man. Of course, a number of studies can be carried out to determine whether urination is occurring correctly and whether the urine stream is changing. This study is called uroflowmetry.

• autoimmune processes. Just like other tissues of the body, immune cells can “make a mistake” and recognize prostate tissue as foreign. According to this principle, so-called autoimmune diseases (arthritis, glomerulonephritis, etc.) develop.

• hormonal-dystrophic changes associated with a sharp decrease in testosterone in the body.

• traumatic injuries.

In almost all treatment regimens for prostatitis, the term “bioregulatory peptides” appears. What kind of drugs are these?

In recent years, drugs - cytomedins - peptide bioregulators or stimulators of genetic activity in cells, which are complexes of biologically active substances isolated from animal organs and tissues, have been widely used in medical practice. In the human body, cytomedins act on the principle of “treating like with like,” i.e. they restore the functioning of those organs from which they are isolated from the animal.

Cytomedins do not contain preservatives or other substances foreign to the body, have virtually no side effects (except for individual intolerance), have no contraindications, and are compatible with other medications.

In urology, cytomedin-prostatilen is used. Prostatilen is a complex of polypeptide fractions isolated from the prostate gland of cattle. It has an organotropic effect on the prostate gland, reduces swelling, stagnation of secretions, and inflammatory processes. Prostatilen normalizes the formation of prostate secretions and prevents the formation of blood clots in the blood vessels of the prostate.

What symptoms may indicate prostatitis? What should you pay attention to?
• discomfort in the perineum, in the anus;
• frequent, painful urination, intermittent stream;
• discharge may appear after urination;
• pain, burning, pulling sensations in the groin during sexual intercourse or after ejaculation;
• unpleasant odor and color of urine;
• erectile dysfunction (decreased blood supply, premature ejaculation);
• pain during defecation, radiating to the perineum;
• discharge from the urethra after defecation.
